Terms of use

Effective: 18 October 2026

1. The service. MIRAHITS (mirahits.com) is a free, non-commercial music website. It shows hit charts from 1950 to today, compiled with its own calculation, and lets you listen to the songs through embedded players of third-party providers. It is operated by Monoceros.hu Kft. (see the Legal notice).

2. Acceptance. By using the site you accept these terms and the Privacy notice. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

3. YouTube. The videos are provided by YouTube. This site uses YouTube API Services. By using the site you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Spotify and Deezer. If you switch playback to Spotify or Deezer, their own terms apply:

The Deezer player is for private, family use only.

5. Charts and data.

• Positions, points, the "Movement" column and the song descriptions are MIRAHITS's own calculations and texts, not data from YouTube or any other provider.
• The charts are compiled from public hit charts with our own formula. They are for information only; we accept no liability for their accuracy.
• Songs, videos and cover images belong to their rights holders. MIRAHITS does not store or distribute any audio or video files.

6. Permitted use. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• download the site or its data in bulk with automated tools;
• disrupt its operation;
• bypass or cover the embedded players.

7. Shared playlists. If you share a playlist of your own, only include YouTube videos that are publicly available and do not infringe anyone's rights. The person who compiled a shared playlist is responsible for its content.

8. Reporting infringing content. If you believe the site infringes your rights, write to info@mirahits.com and describe exactly what you mean. We will look into it without delay and remove or replace the content if needed.

9. Liability. The site is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be continuously available and error-free, or that the third-party players will play every video. We are not responsible for the operation of third-party providers (YouTube, Spotify, Deezer). This exclusion does not apply where the law does not allow it.

10. Changes. We may change these terms. Changes take effect when they are published on the site.

11. Governing law. Hungarian law applies. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country of residence regardless.

2. In short

MIRAHITS has no registration and does not ask for your name, e-mail address or any other identifying data. Your settings and favourites are stored only in your own browser and never reach us.

Data (for example your IP address) reaches third-party providers when:

• the page loads (hosting, fonts, statistics);
• you start a song (YouTube, Spotify or Deezer).

3. What does the site store in your browser?

The site does not use cookies. It uses your browser's local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) only to make the site work. This data never reaches us. You can delete it at any time with your browser's "Clear site data" function.

Legal basis: these are strictly necessary for the functions you request (Hungarian Act C of 2003, section 155 (4); GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

4. Third-party providers

Hosting: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA)

• The site is served by Cloudflare. To serve it and protect it against attacks, Cloudflare technically processes your IP address and browser data.
• Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Visitor statistics: Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, EU)

• It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
• It provides aggregate data only: how many visits, on which page, from which country, on which device.
• It does not store IP addresses.
• Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Fonts: Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.)

• When the page loads, your browser downloads the fonts from Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address.

YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland)

• This site uses YouTube API Services. The YouTube player loads only when you start a song, and only after you have given your consent.
• After that, YouTube may place cookies and similar technologies in your browser and collect data about playback. If you are signed in to your Google account, it may link playback to your account.
• Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it with the "Withdraw consent for players" link in the footer.

Spotify (Spotify AB, Sweden) and Deezer (Deezer SA, France)

• They load only if you switch playback to them and start a song.
• They place cookies and, if you are signed in, link playback to your account.
• If a song has no known Spotify or Deezer ID, your browser asks for it directly: - from the song.link service (Odesli / Linktree, USA or Australia): https://odesli.co/privacy; - from Deezer's public search.

In that case these providers receive your IP address and the song's details.

Sharing

• The share buttons (Facebook, X, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, LinkedIn) are plain links.
• They send data to the provider only if you click them.

5. Transfers outside the EU

• Cloudflare, Google, and some providers of Spotify and Deezer may also process data in the USA. This is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.
• song.link may also process data in Australia.

6. How long?

• We do not store any data about you.
• Data stored in your browser stays there until you delete it.
• Third-party providers keep data for as long as their own notices say.

7. Children

The site is not specifically aimed at children. Videos marked on YouTube as made for children ("Made for Kids") are not played on the site.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• request access to your data;
• request its correction, deletion or the restriction of its processing;
• object to its processing;
• withdraw your consent at any time.

Write to info@mirahits.com. We will reply within 30 days at the latest.

You can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH):
